Mount Sinai NY Yellow Pages

Mount Sinai borders the North Shore and is located in Suffolk County. Mount Sinai Harbor and Cedar Beach are popular, relaxing vacation destinations. Part of the original sand dunes of the area is preserved in a Marine Sanctuary in the northern part of the harbor. Visitors to the harbor and Cedar Beach can rent a rowboat, fish or swim.

Mount Sinai is also a rich historical location. Archeological excavations at Hopkin's Landing have revealed an insight into Mount Sinai's first settlers, Native Americans who called the area Nonowantuck. Fans of more modern history will appreciate that Marilyn Monroe and Arthur Miller summered here in the 1950's and rented a home in Chandler Estates. The southern parts of the hamlet retain an old-world charm, stemming from the original wagon roads and settlements that began here, while the northern part of the hamlet is home to more modern amenities and attractions.
